Frequently asked questions

Before your first day at work, your operations or department manager will contact you and let you know exactly where you should report. For most of our employees, the working day usually begins at the Gaislachkoglbahn administration building (Dorfstraße 115, 6450 Sölden) or the Giggijochbahn (Giggijochstraße 18, 6450 Sölden). From there, they either take one of our shuttle buses or a company car to their place of work. If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask your manager at any time!

Yes, on days when you are on duty, of course! You can purchase meal vouchers at all Bergbahnen Sölden ticket offices. A book of 10 vouchers costs €40, and one voucher entitles you to a multi-course meal in our company restaurants and in many partner establishments.

On your days off, you can enjoy everything in our restaurant at the employee price; meal vouchers are not valid there.

Don't worry, we'll take care of your registration with the local authorities! All you need to do is give us your passport or identity card when you arrive. We'll take care of the rest for you.

EEA citizens who wish to stay in Austria for longer than three months must register with the district administration office at the latest after this period has expired. To do so, you will need:

  • A confirmation of registration from the municipality of Sölden
  • A social security registration confirmation (SV registration)
  • A valid passport or identity card

Registration takes place at the Imst District Administration Office – Foreigners Department (office hours: Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 12 noon). Please make an appointment in advance (+43 5412 6996). The fee for the registration certificate is €15. You will need to provide proof of identity, comprehensive health insurance cover and proof of secure means of subsistence (e.g. employment contract).
The registration certificate is only required once and is also valid for future stays.

As soon as you are registered with us, you are automatically insured with the Insurance Institution for Public Servants, Railways and Mining (BVAEB). If you do not yet have a social security number, we will take care of it and apply for one on your behalf. The insurance covers health, (work) accident, pension and unemployment insurance. We recommend that you take out your own insurance for accidents during your free time.

Once we have registered you with social security and you have received your social security number, you must apply for your E-Card yourself. You will receive an information sheet detailing the necessary steps when you start work.

A few days before your first day at work, you can pick up your work uniform from Nicole Brugger or Antonia Holzknecht at the Bergbahnen Sölden administration building (Dorfstraße 115, 6450 Sölden) and try it on.

In winter, you can obtain your service pass at the Gaislachkoglbahn information counter. It is recommended that you bring a passport photo with you. In summer, you can collect it directly from the Gaislachkoglbahn ticket office.

You can collect your season ticket from the ticket office at the Gaislachkoglbahn (Dorfstraße 115, 6450 Sölden) as soon as you start your first day of work.

You will usually receive your employment contract and tenancy agreement from your line manager during your first week at work.  If you need confirmation in advance, the HR department will be happy to help (+43 5254 508 107).

You can either travel by car or use public transport. Once you have received your work clothes and are living between Ötztal railway station and Sölden, you can use our free company transport service.
