Innovation meets success

With the aim of inspiring people on the mountain, Bergbahnen Sölden has created numerous highlights in recent years. Projects such as the high-performance feeder lifts at Gaislachkogl and Giggijoch offer more comfort and significantly reduce waiting times. The ice Q restaurant not only impressed visitors, but also the producers of the James Bond films - a fascination that ultimately led to the realisation of the interactive 007 Elements exhibition.

007 Elements

The special connection between the famous film series and the Ötztal began here, on the set of Spectre. Three years after filming began in 2015, Sölden secured itself a permanent place in the prestigious Bond universe - a trump card that carries far more weight than its already coveted role as a film location.

Giggijoch cable car

Since November 2016, the Giggijochbahn has been setting new standards in comfort and quality. As with many previous projects, the aim was to inspire guests and increase their satisfaction. The new lift impresses with shorter waiting times, increased comfort and functional yet appealing architecture.

Ice Q restaurant

The restaurant and its kitchen and service team were put to the test on the very day it opened: 21 selected media representatives were the first guests to dine at ice Q on 5 December 2013. Their positive judgement paved the way for the subsequent toque award, which the restaurant received just a few years later.

Gaislachkogl cable car

The new Gaislachkoglbahn was a complete success - that was already clear after the first winter season. Its technical advances attracted more visitors to Sölden than usual. Thanks to the fast ascent of 6.7 minutes to the middle station, there were no delays. The 3-S cable car takes ski fans safely up to 3,040 metres in just 5.5 minutes.

Big 3

The BIG 3 platforms have been highlights in the Sölden ski area since 2003: Three impressive three-thousand metre peaks, easily accessible by lift, offer breathtaking panoramas. For ambitious winter sports enthusiasts, there is the BIG 3 Rally, where you master all three peaks in one tour and cover 5,200 metres in depth.

With the new 10EUB Giggijoch (4,500 passengers/h) and the 8EUB Gaislachkogl (3,600 passengers/h), the Sölden ski resort currently has the two most powerful feeder lifts in the world.
