Career on the mountain in 3.5 years
Today's cable car systems are complex, high-tech systems. All-rounders are needed to operate, maintain and inspect them. Ropeway technicians are these specialists!
IN THE PRACTICAL TRAINING PROGRAMME YOU WILL LEARN:
the operation, maintenance and servicing of cable car systems
the service for our guests and assistance in driving operations
analysing and rectifying faults on cable cars and surface lifts
keeping records for operation and maintenance
reading and preparing technical documents such as construction drawings
basic knowledge in the areas of snowmaking, snow vehicles, cashiering, marketing and other additional training in the railway's own workshop and metalworking shop
Thanks to our flexible working time models in summer and winter, you will only be restricted to a small extent despite seasonal operations and still have enough time for an ideal work-life balance.
Winter
Work 4 days, 8.5 hours each
2 days off (rotation system*)
Summer
Work 4 days, 10 hours each
3 days free (Friday to Sunday)
*Your working days and days off alternate in a fixed rhythm.
Every employee in the company is entitled to 5 weeks holiday (200 hours). November to April is high season in Sölden, which means that no holidays are possible during this time. However, individual days off can of course be discussed with your direct manager.
From the age of 18, the gross apprentice salary is € 1,929.00. After successfully passing the final apprenticeship examination as a ropeway technician, the gross salary is € 2,448.00. If the double apprenticeship as a ropeway technician/electrical technician is successfully completed, the amount rises to € 2,553.00 gross.

Optional double apprenticeship qualification
You want more? No problem.
In addition to the 3.5 years of training, you can complete a modular six-month training programme including an apprenticeship qualification in electrical engineering (systems and operating technology). The double apprenticeship enables you to respond even better to innovations in ropeway construction as a specialist and thus open up further career opportunities.
