Slope 1b
The newly redesigned slope area with a widened surface and reduced gradient offers numerous advantages: less experienced skiers can now reach the Gaislachkogl mid-station much more easily. In the past, accessing the mid-station posed a certain challenge for less confident skiers. To address this, Bergbahnen Sölden has adapted the 1.2 km section of slope 1b, from the Stabelebahn mountain station to the Gaislachkogl mid-station.

Solar power plant on the glacier
In 2023, an innovative system for generating solar energy was put into operation on the Tiefenbach Glacier. The HELIOPLANT ® solution, which is being used for the first time in Austria, promises up to 40% more yield and greater efficiency in alpine terrain. Instead of a large contiguous area, individual elements in the form of a tree-like design are used. This means that the photovoltaic modules are mounted vertically. This means that the resulting ‘power plant forest’ remains free of snow, withstands extreme wind peaks on the scale of a dust avalanche and is perceived more favourably in the sensitive landscape.

Renovation work at the Hotel das Central
Just in time for the 2023/24 winter season, Hotel Das Central presents itself in new splendour. With 31 newly renovated rooms and suites, a spectacular spa experience high above the rooftops of Sölden, the new ‘Event Cloud’ seminar area covering 330 m² and an inviting Living Lounge in the entrance area, numerous highlights have been created. But that's not all: technical upgrades such as a modernised lift, optimised heating of the two pools and a new photovoltaic system ensure that guests will want for nothing in future.
