We understand tourism holistically

If you think only of ski lifts when you think of Bergbahnen Sölden, you are mistaken. The cable car company owns and operates the 31 lifts in the Sölden ski area, 6 mountain restaurants (2 of which are leased externally) as well as the 5* Hotel Das Central in Sölden and the Rastland Nassereith. In addition to this comprehensive service portfolio, Bergbahnen Sölden is involved in other innovative tourism offers in the Ötztal.

WE FULFILL WINTER SPORT DREAMS

Sölden is considered extremely snow-sure. Three factors guarantee an extra-long ski season from September to May:

  • The altitude of the ski area, which stretches from 1,350 to 3,340 metres. That makes an incredible 2,000 m difference in altitude!
  • The 2 glacier ski areas on the Rettenbach and Tiefenbach glaciers, where early birds can start carving as early as mid-September.
  • The possibility of technical snow on around 77% of all pistes.

PLENTY OF ROOM FOR WIDE TURNS

The Sölden ski area covers a total of 429 ha of piste. Even if more than 10,000 skiers enjoy themselves on the slopes, around 400 m² of piste area remains for each individual. So per hectare you only meet an average of 25 skiers in action - a very important factor for the safety of all guests.

POWERFUL RAILWAYS

Two of the highest-capacity feeder lifts in the world are currently in Sölden and don't give queues a chance. After all, the duo of Gaislachkoglbahn (built in 2010) and Giggijochbahn (built in 2016) manages to transport 8,100 people to the ski area every hour.

It takes just 12 minutes from the centre of town to the 3,040 m high Gaislachkogl with a gondola change at the middle station, and less than 9 minutes to the Giggijoch (2,283 m). In addition to performance, the valley and mountain stations impress with futuristic architecture and pioneering solutions in terms of comfort.
