Sölden is considered extremely snow-sure. Three factors guarantee an extra-long ski season from September to May:
The Sölden ski area covers a total of 429 ha of piste. Even if more than 10,000 skiers enjoy themselves on the slopes, around 400 m² of piste area remains for each individual. So per hectare you only meet an average of 25 skiers in action - a very important factor for the safety of all guests.
Two of the highest-capacity feeder lifts in the world are currently in Sölden and don't give queues a chance. After all, the duo of Gaislachkoglbahn (built in 2010) and Giggijochbahn (built in 2016) manages to transport 8,100 people to the ski area every hour.
It takes just 12 minutes from the centre of town to the 3,040 m high Gaislachkogl with a gondola change at the middle station, and less than 9 minutes to the Giggijoch (2,283 m). In addition to performance, the valley and mountain stations impress with futuristic architecture and pioneering solutions in terms of comfort.
